What Apple Developers Need to Know

The Apple development platform provides various features for developers to take advantage of. These include in-app purchases, a D-U-N-S number, an organizational account, and app transfers.

You must enroll in the Apple Developer Program to publish your app in the Apple App Store. To do so, you must first obtain a D-U-N-S number. This nine-digit number will be used to verify the legal status of your business.

D-U-N-S is a free service provided by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B). It is a unique identification number that identifies companies and organizations nationally. The number is a nine-digit ID that stays with a company forever.

To request a D-U-N-S, you will need to have an Apple ID. This "all-in-one" account allows you to log into many online systems. You will need to provide personal contact information and a photo ID during the enrollment process.

Once you have your Apple ID, you can use the D-U-N-S lookup tool to request a free D-U-N-S. The tool asks you to provide your company name, email address, business location, and other essential business information.

You'll need a developer account if you want to write, publish, and distribute apps on Apple's App Store. There are two main types of developer accounts, the individual and the company or organization. The former is the best option for a personal app, while the latter is more appropriate for companies with more than one employee.

The company/organization account is an option for legally recognized companies with Dun and Bradstreet numbers. This option enables you to be more than a mere mortal and provides several benefits, from multiple user logins to varying permissions.

To get the most out of your developer account, you should make it a part of your everyday life. You can link your Apple ID to your work email address. That way, you can keep all your business information in one place. Also, you'll make it easier for other employees to share your work on various devices.

In-app purchases are a great way to get your users engaged. Users more involved with your app are likelier to promote it to their friends. This means more visibility on the App Store and more word-of-mouth installs.

However, in-app purchases are only one of the ways to boost revenue. Subscriptions are becoming increasingly popular as well. These offer users a bundle of premium content for a fixed period.

You can also create online shops to sell in-app purchases. These are good for extra lives, game currencies, or unlockable content.

Apple has also made it easier to configure in-app purchases. You can add various purchase types and set the price through the App Store Connect service. It also allows you to add localizations to your products to ensure a seamless experience for users.

You'll need to follow the proper workflow for your in-app purchases to be approved. This involves setting up banking information in App Store Connect, signing a Paid Applications Agreement, and setting up review notes and tax information.

If you are an iOS app developer, you can transfer apps to other Apple developer accounts without removing them from the App Store. This is done through a process called App Store Connect.

You can transfer an app from one developer account to another in several ways. However, you will need to meet some requirements. To start, you will need to obtain an Apple ID. Once you have an Apple ID, you can begin transferring your app.

Before transferring an app, you must back up all of the app's information. During the migration process, some elements will be lost. For example, keychain access will not be restored, and your app's metadata will be closed.

Next, you will need to log in to App Store Connect. Then, you should click on your app and scroll down to the Additional Information section. You will then see the information about your app, including its name and team.
